Tzniut, the Head Coverings for Wives, and Why Wives Must Submit to Their Husbands and Be Silent in the Assemblies

What brought death to man was not eating of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for it was a tree of knowledge, not a tree of death, but transgressing the command to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil,

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat…

Genesis 2:17

Because the transgression resulted in God taking away his access to the “tree of life” by banishing him from the Garden of Eden, which is therefore what made the eventual death of man “sure”, hence “you shall surely die”, for man was not originally given aeonial life when he was created, which is why taking away his access to the “tree of life” also took away his opportunity to receive aeonial life, because his body was made from the dust of the ground to be temporal, which would eventually grow old and naturally die, like the lesser flesh of animals who were also made in this temporal way, which God did in preparation for what he predestined would happen, which is one reason man was made “a little lesser than the angels”, who were indeed originally given aeonial life when they were created,

then the Master God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the airflow of life, and the man became a living soul.

Genesis 2:7

for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Genesis 2:17

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

Genesis 3:6

Then the Master God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live aeonially” therefore the Master God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a whirling flaming sword to guard the way to the tree of life.

Genesis 3:22-24

Yet you have made him a little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor.

Psalm 8:5

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the plan of his will

Ephesians 1:11

Which is not something man thought he needed right away, which is why he never bothered to reach out and eat of the fruit of the tree of life, even though he had access to the tree of life the entire time he was in the Garden of Eden,

And out of the ground the Master God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden

Genesis 2:9

And as a result of the transgression, death then became the greatest enemy of man, the “great curse”, which will be the last enemy to be destroyed,

The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

1 Corinthians 15:26

Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire

Revelation 20:14

Yet in spite of the transgression of man, God had mercy on him, which is why he covered his nakedness,

And the Master God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.

Genesis 3:21

Because unlike the many angels who willingly chose to do evil who already had knowledge of good and evil, which is why God chose to never forgive them, man not knowing good and evil transgressed because of a lie, which deceived the woman and caused her to eat, who then caused the man to also eat,

But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

Genesis 3:4

Then the Master God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Genesis 3:13

and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.

1 Timothy 2:14

And rather than curse the man with the death that was already made “sure” because of his transgression, because God took away his access to the tree of life, God cursed the man to suffer, so that through the lesser and temporal curse of suffering he may then be delivered from the greater and permanent curse of death, which is why although he cursed the man and the woman differently, each curse resulted in something good for each, for the pain of the man working the field would yield the joy of a harvest, while the pain of a woman giving birth would yield the joy of sons and daughters,

And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Genesis 3:17-19

He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

Psalm 126:6

You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest

Isaiah 9:3

I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children…

Genesis 3:16

A woman when giving birth has pain because her hour has come; but when she brings forth her child, she forgets her anguish because of her joy that a man has been born into the world.

John 16:21

While the serpent was cursed in a greater way than the man and the woman resulting in something evil for him, the eventual bruising of his own head, meaning his eventual destruction,

the Master God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

Genesis 3:14-15

and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire

Revelation 20:10

Yet because the woman caused her husband to transgress, just as the serpent caused both the woman and the man to transgress, she was not only cursed to suffer pain, but was also put into submission to her husband, hence “he shall rule over you”,

Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.

Genesis 3:16

For originally the woman was created to become “one flesh” with the man to both rule the earth together, for just as the man was created in the representation of God, which is why he is called the glory of God, the woman was created in the representation of man, which is why she is called the glory of man,

Then the Master God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper alongside him.”

Genesis 2:18

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let him have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:26-27

For a man… is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man.

1 Corinthians 11:7

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Genesis 2:24

But because of the transgression, the man was also put in authority over the woman, like a master is in authority over a servant, and this is why in this current time wives must willingly submit to their husbands during their time in this body,

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Master.

Ephesians 5:22

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Master.

Colossians 3:18

Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives

1 Peter 3:1

In order to fulfill the words of her curse for her own eventual good, so that she may eventually be delivered through her willing submission to her husband, just as she will also be delivered through her willing endurance of pain through giving birth,

But wives will be delivered through giving birth, if they continue in belief, love and set-apartness with sobriety.

1 Timothy 2:15

And in likewise manner the husband fulfills the words of his curse for his own eventual good, to be delivered, through his willing work of righteousness yielding a harvest of good fruit by serving the poor, which in turn brings pain, because all who serve God by doing good works will endure suffering, which goes back to what Adam was told, “thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you”, for thorns and thistles cause pain,

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 7:19

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

John 15:16

so that you may live a life worthy of the Master and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

Colossians 1:10

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

1 Timothy 6:18

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

And God is able to make all favor abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:8

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

2 Timothy 2:21

Indeed, all who desire to live a pious life in the Messiah Yeshuah will be persecuted

2 Timothy 3:12

While they were confirming the souls of the disciples and seeking that they would continue in the belief; and they were saying to them that it is necessary to enter the Kingdom of God by much suffering.

Acts 14:22

For it has been granted to you that for the sake of the Messiah you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

Philippians 1:29

But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of the Messiah, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

1 Peter 4:13

For just as the sufferings of the Messiah overflow to us, so also through the Messiah our comfort overflows. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and deliverance; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which accomplishes in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we experience. And our hope for you is sure, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you will share in our comfort.

2 Corinthians 1:5-7

that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering

2 Thessalonians 1:5

Are they servants of the Messiah? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the assemblies.

2 Corinthians 11:23-28

Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated– the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.

Hebrews 11:35-38

but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger;

2 Corinthians 6:4-5

And just as the wife submits to the authority of her husband, so does the husband submit to the authority of his Master, which is Yeshuah,

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is the Messiah, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of the Messiah is God.

1 Corinthians 11:3

For Eve also symbolically foreshadowed the greater assembly of God, made up of men and women, which is why the assembly will one day be called the “bride” of the Messiah, whereas Adam symbolically foreshadowed the greater man, the Messiah, which is why Adam is called a “type” of the Messiah, and through the submission of the assembly to the Messiah and through her suffering just as the Messiah also suffered, with men and women in the assembly each suffering each in their own role, the assembly will then be delivered to rule the earth along with the Messiah, as was intended in the beginning for a husband and his wife, to rule the earth together as “one flesh”,

For the husband is the head of the wife even as the Messiah is the head of the assembly, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the assembly submits to the Messiah, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

Ephesians 5:23-24

…the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.

Romans 5:14

Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen is the righteous works of the set-apart ones.

Revelation 19:7-8

Blessed and set-apart is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of the Messiah, and they will rule with him for 1,000 years.

Revelation 20:6

As such, the submission of a wife to her husband is not only done in word, but with actions, for not only must a wife serve her husband like a servant serves his master, yet with love towards each other, and without quarrels, but she must also keep quiet in the assembly and not teach other men, which would thus usurp the authority of her own husband, yet she may teach her own children and other women,

the wives should keep silent in the assemblies. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Torah also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a wife to speak in the assembly.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35

I do not permit a wife to teach or to assume authority over a husband; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the wife who was deceived and came into transgression.

1 Timothy 2:12-14

A wife should learn in quietness and full submission

1 Timothy 2:11

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,
and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands
, that the word of God may not be reviled.

Titus 2:3-5

And she must cover her head, which is called a “tzniut”, or also a “hijab”, which is the visible sign she is under the authority of a husband, which is why Rebekah covered her head when she first laid eyes on Isaac, the man she was about to marry,

…let her cover her head

1 Corinthians 11:6

That is why a wife ought to have a sign of authority on her head…

1 Corinthians 11:10

and asked the servant, “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?” “He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself. Then the servant told Isaac all he had done.
Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife
, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

Genesis 24:65-67

And the priest shall set the wife before the Master, and uncover the wife’s head…

Numbers 5:18

Yet if she refuses to cover her head, then she must shave or shear her head, which is the second visible sign of the Torah that a wife is under the authority of a husband, which was done to the captive women that were taken by the sons of Israel as wives,

For if a wife will not cover her head, then let her be shorn. But if it is shameful for a wife to be shorn or shaven, then let her cover her head.

1 Corinthians 11:6

When you go out to war against your enemies, and the Master your God gives them into your hand and you take them captive, and you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you desire to take her to be your wife, and you bring her home to your house, she shall shave her head and trim her nails.

Deuteronomy 21:10-12
